MAE Fellowship Opportunities

Full support packages for new outstanding Ph.D. applicants

The Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering (MAE) at the Missouri University of Science and Technology (Missouri S&T) is offering fellowship opportunities to outstanding PhD applicants. Graduate students in the MAE Department have the opportunity to work on exciting research under the guidance of world-renowned faculty in state-of-the-art facilities.

Fellowship Programs and Benefits

MAE Department Assistantship

One year 50% GRA/GTA appointment ($24,500), full tuition, and supplemental fees ($11,000). This represents a total one-year support of over $35,000.

Mathew/Kaiser Fellowship

The Mathew/Kaiser Fellowship ($5,000) is available to qualified Assistantship candidates and provides additional support.  If combined with the MAE Department Assistantship they provide a total one-year support of over $40,000.

Acceptance in the MAE Department Assistantship program does not guarantee support through the Mathew/Kaiser Fellowship. 

The Mathews/Kaiser Fellowship is renewable annually, subject to satisfactory progress in coursework and research.

Eligibility

Eligibility requirements include the following:

  • Newly admitted to the regular or direct (i.e., straight from BS) doctoral Mechanical Engineering program at Missouri S&T.
  • Applicants must have a strong GPA and GRE scores, and have a strong desire to conduct research.
