The Toomey Hall Groundbreaking Ceremony was held on Friday, September 30, 2005 in front of the Mechanical Engineering Annex!

The Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering (MAE) complex made a huge step forward last year with the official announcement to begin phase one of the $28 Million (fall 2005  estimate) renovation and expansion project. The project received a boost with the university's announcement of a $5 million gift for the project from John and Mary (Kelly) Toomey of Alexandria, Va., and their family.

The new MAE complex will feature state of the art learning centers, laboratories and computer facilities. The newly renovated complex will greatly enhance Missouri S&T’s ability to provide a premiere engineering education that focuses on research, application, partnership, innovation and design.
