Nearly all of our graduate students conducting research have financial support. Typical forms of student financial support are external fellowships, internal fellowships, research assistantships, and/or teaching assistantships.

GAANN: Doctoral Research in Advanced Manufacturing: The Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering Department is recruiting highly-motivated doctoral students in mechanical engineering to become part of a team researching the latest science and technology in advanced manufacturing in areas including additive manufacturing, battery fabrication, metrology for manufacturing, process-control, and composite manufacturing, to name a few.
Research Assistantship (RA)
Our faculty are leading researchers in their fields, conducting research supported by government and industry. As part of their funded research our faculty support graduate students through research assistantships. These positions are at the discretion of the faculty member. Teaching Assistantship (TA)
Graduate students assist our faculty in teaching courses. You can apply for a teaching assistantship by submitting the Financial Aid Application to the Associate Chair for Graduate Affairs, Dr. Xiaodong Yang. By filling out this application you will be considered for Teaching Assistantships and Department Fellowships.
