You can apply for any of our graduate programs online at http://futurestudents.mst.edu/. If you are interested in applying for the Fall semester, you should submit your application by July 15th (June 15th for international applicants). If you are interested in applying for the Spring semester, you should submit your application by December 15th (November 15th for international applicants). If you are interested in applying for the Summer semester, you should submit your application by May 1st (April 1st for international applicants).
Nearly all of our graduate students conducting research have financial support. You can apply for financial aid by submitting the Financial Aid Application to the Associate Chair for Graduate Affairs. By filling out this application you will be considered for Graduate Teaching Assistantships and Department Fellowships. You can also search the Faculty Profiles and contact faculty members directly to enquire about Graduate Research Assistantship opportunities. If you are applying for the Fall semester you should submit your application by March 1st. If you are applying for the Spring semester you should submit your application by October 1st. Students can obtain more information about financial aid at the Student Financial Assistance Office.
Second MS Degree Regulations
A student having completed a master's degree at the Missouri University of Science and Technology or elsewhere in one major shall be eligible to receive a second master's degree in another major subject upon admission and satisfactory completion of at least 24 additional semester hours of approved graduate academic work (thesis or non–thesis). All other requirements must be fulfilled.
Dual Enrollment (undergraduate/graduate)
Undergraduate students may apply for dual enrollment as both an undergraduate and a graduate student during their last semester. Undergraduate students in the Honors Program may be dually enrolled for their last two semesters. An application for dual enrollment can be found at http://registrar.mst.edu/documents/dualenrolled.pdf. Admission is limited to students who have at least a 3.0 GPA for the previous three semesters and at least a 3.0 mid–semester GPA in the semester prior to registering. A dually enrolled student must take at least three hours of undergraduate credit from Missouri S&T each semester and are limited to sixteen total credit hours per semester.
Transfer Credit Regulations
A maximum of nine hours of course work for MS degrees may be transferred from universities outside the University of Missouri. Such credits for transfer must have been registered as graduate courses when they were taken. A minimum grade of B must have been obtained before a transfer–in course can be used in the graduate program. However, if a student is transferring to the campus with his/her faculty advisor, the maximum is 12 credit hours.
