**Instructions to apply for scholarships in AcademicWorks: Complete the General Application. Scroll over "Opportunities" and click on "Recommended". This is a listing of all scholarships in the AcademicWorks system that you are qualified to apply. Search for "Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering Departmental Scholarships" or "Manufacturing Engineering Scholarships" and complete the extra questions.
The Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering Department (MAE) offers a number of scholarships each year. For the majority of scholarships, they are based on academic record and involvement in campus activities.
Departmental Scholarships - Are available to seniors, juniors, and sophomores with a declared major in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering. Scholarships must be applied for each year for the following academic year. The students must fill out an application on the Academic Works Scholarship Page (see instructions above). This application is used to apply for all Departmental scholarships listed below:

Academy of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineers Scholarships - Are available to seniors, juniors, and sophomores. There are nine $1,000 scholarships and two $2,000 scholarships available each year. The two $2,000 scholarships are from the Academy Past President's Scholarship Fund and the Donald and Mary McGovern Endowed Scholarship Fund. These scholarships must be applied for each year. These scholarships are based on demonstrated leadership through meaningful involvement in campus organized extracurricular activities, including varsity athletics and demonstrated potential to be good engineers. Applications for these scholarships are available online on February 1st of each year in AcademicWorks (see instructions above).
Bassem and Gery Armaly Scholarship - Is available to Foreign Students who are seniors or juniors.This scholarship must be applied for each year for the following academic year. This scholarship is now included on the departmental scholarships application that is on the AcademicWorks website (see instructions above). A current transcript of grades is required for this scholarship.
Desloge-Watlow Manufacturing Engineering Scholarship -Is available to students with an interest in a manufacturing related area. This scholarship program created at Missouri S&T by Mr. George Desloge and Watlow is to both enhance recognition of the manufacturing segment and to encourage recruitment at the collegiate level. Four $2,500 scholarships will be awarded on an annual basis ($1,250 per semester). Only full-time students (U.S. citizens) enrolled at Missouri S&T are eligible to receive the scholarship. The awardee(s) will be invited to visit Watlow (http://www.watlow.com/). The deadline for applications each year is March 1st. This scholarship is administered by the Manufacturing Engineering Executive Committee and is included on the AcademicWorks website. It is listed as Manufacturing Engineering Scholarships.
Robert and Linda Mueller Manufacturing Engineering Scholarship - Is available to students in either Mechanical Engineering or Engineering Management with an emphasis in Manufacturing Engineering.This scholarship is administered by the Manufacturing Engineering Executive Committee and is included on the AcademicWorks website. It is listed as Manufacturing Engineering Scholarships.
Norman E. Hart Scholarship - Is available to members of Kappa Sigma Fraternity majoring in Aerospace Engineering. This scholarship is now included on the departmental scholarships application that is on the AcademicWorks website (see instructions above).
John Wm. And Camille Ricketts Scholarship - Is available to members of Kappa Sigma Fraternity majoring in Mechanical Engineering. This scholarship is now included on the departmental scholarships application that is on the AcademicWorks website (see instructions above).
To be eligible for any scholarship, you must be on campus and enrolled as a regular student (at least 12 cr. hrs). You will not be eligible for scholarships during co-op semesters or while taking only extension courses from this campus. These scholarships will first be applied as credit to total fees, residential life, and other outstanding debts owed to the university.
